Even the moon itself expresses some sorrow for the pain it will cause. Listen to the sound of its teardrops as they reach the ground before it. Standing atop the observatory, your own knowledge of impending doom transports you to another plane. Here in this room, closer in some ways to the stars than you are to the earth, are you far enough from civilization that you might be spared? Even if you thought you were, could you bear the guilt of not trying to stop it?
On his interpretation of the Majora’s Mask soundtrack, Children of Termina, composer ROZEN doubles down on the ethereal nature of the original track. The tempo is slowed down and the twinkle of the chimes that provide the melody on the original track are represented by the weighty notes of the piano. The volume swells towards the middle as the weight of your task dawns on you before dropping out and being replaced by solo acoustic guitar. The realization that you must face this responsibility alone.
